The earth is the center of the universe — not!

         Today in science I learned that a Greek astronomer named Claudius Ptolemy (the ‘P’ is silent) wrote a book in which he presented this idea of an earth-centered universe. He wrote this book so convincingly that his theory became the accepted viewpoint for more than 1400 years.
         It wasn’t until Copernicus came along that we understood that the earth revolves around the sun.
